A Comparison of JEE Main Vs. JEE Advanced

What Distinguishes JEE Main from JEE Advanced?

 If you want to appear for the JEE Main exam, then you should be aware that it is administered twice a year. While for the JEE Advanced exam, you just have a single chance in a year as it is held once each year.

The group officials who overlook these exams are the National Testing Agency (NTA) for JEE Main. And the IIT JAB exam committee oversees the administration of JEE Advanced.

Eligibility Criteria

You should have a maximum of three years to take the JEE Main exam while a candidate should have a maximum of two years to take the JEE Advanced exam.

 The Duration of The Exam

 Even the time duration of these exams differs as the JEE Main exam lasts for three hours. While the JEE Advanced Paper is divided into two 3-hour papers (Paper 1 and Paper 2).

The Number of Questions in The Exams

 JEE Main consists of 90 questions worth 4 marks each, only 75 of which must be answered. The JEE Advanced exam has a variable number of questions and a fixed distribution of marks.

Types of Languages

 English, Hindi, Gujarati, Assamese, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu are the languages that are included in the JEE Main question paper. Only Hindi and English are used in the JEE Advanced question bank.

The Similarity of The Syllabus

 Many of you are confused as to whether the syllabus of the JEE Main and Advanced might be the same or different. So, both of these exams have around 99% of the same syllabus. Some points might differ because of the level of difficulty of both exams.

Level of Difficulty

 JEE Advanced questions are more challenging than those in JEE Main. All critical abilities, including conceptual thinking, memory, comprehension, knowledge, and application, are tested in JEE Advanced.
